【DETAILS】

Matcha is a high-grade Japanese tea that contains a lot of antioxidants, caffeine, vitamins, and minerals. The green powder is used not only for tea, but also in a wide variety of cuisine, especially sweets!

When drinking matcha for the first time, many people are overwhelmed by bitterness. However, there are different grades of quality within matcha. Regular quality matcha is made from bitter tea leaves, which are commonly used. For the highest quality matcha, the first plucked leaves of the year, called "ichibancha," are used. There is only a small amount that can be harvested each year. They have the fresh fragrance and a rather mellow flavor with little bitterness.

This plan provides a casual matcha experience using the rarest ichibancha from Uji, Kyoto. The quality is guaranteed as the highest by the shop specializing in matcha sweets in Asakusa. Your experience will start with the process of grinding tea leaves into powder with a real stone mill used in the shop. The freshly ground tea is sure to erase the image of matcha you previously had. Jo-namagashi is a high-quality Japanese confectionery, soft and delicate, in elaborate shapes and colors, often reflecting seasons. Matcha and jo-namagashi really go well together!

The venue is in the downtown area close to Asakusa Shrine and Sensoji Temple. It is easy to explore other sightseeing spots without wasting moving time before or after the experience.

Enjoy relaxing and embracing Japanese culture during your trip to Asakusa!
