Professional breeder-guided Koi farm tour in the sanctuary of Nishikigoi

【STORY】

Nagaoka City in Niigata Prefecture is the representative place of production of Nishikigoi, which is called the swimming jewelry. A professional breeder who raises beautiful Koi in this sacred place of Nishikigoi gives you a guided tour to learn Nisikigoi.
You can learn about the depth of Koi, such as the types of Nishikigoi, how to raise them, and how to recognize beautiful Koi, as well as the world of the Koi business.

The following different experiences are available for each season.

A. From mid-May to the end of June: Observing the Nishikigoi being released into wild ponds
B. From mid-May to the end of June: Observing the spawning of Oyagoi (parent koi)
C. From early July to mid-August: observing the sorting of Nishikigoi fry, "swimming gems in the rough."
D. From mid-September to the end of October: Observe the Nishikigoi pond raising (harvesting)
E. December to April: Nishikigoi tour in the Nishikigoi house pond in snowy Niigata (photo shows snow around February)
F. April to November: If weather conditions and snow cover on the roads are suitable, tours of wild ponds in the mountains are also available.

*Please note that each of the operations in A-D cannot necessarily be visited on all days during each period due to our schedule.
