【SCHEDULE】

[7:50] Join the tour at Takamatsu Port.

[8:00] Transfer to Ogijima Port by ferry.

[8:40] Upon arrival, start the 2-hour walking tour of the island with your guide. The tour includes a visit to

[10:40] Free time. Take a walk around the island by yourself, and you could meet Ogijima cats!

[11:30] Enjoy lunch at one of the island's restaurants while listening to the locals talk about various islands!

[13:00] Transfer by ferry from Ogijima Port to Takamatsu Port. The tour disbands upon arrival.


【DETAILS】

Take a walk along the maze of Ogijima with the guidance of Emi, a local guide from Kagawa! You can enjoy everything from artworks to life on the island.

[Toyotamahime Shrine] The best view spot on the island. It is known as a location with a connection to the legend of Toyotamahime that remains on the island and is known as "Tamahime-san" among the islanders. It leads to the approach from the port's great shrine gate, and if you look back at the stairs along the entrance, you can witness the beautiful scenery unique to Ogijima.

[Ogijima Lighthouse] Built-in 1895, it is a Western-style lighthouse made of granite, which is rare in Japan. In 1957, it was featured in the movie "Times of Joy and Sorrow", which made the lighthouse famous in Japan. At the adjacent "Ogijima Lighthouse Museum", materials related to lighthouses nationwide, the Japan Coast Guard, and the history of Ogijima are exhibited.

[Walking Ark] An artwork by Keisuke Yamaguchi installed at Ogijima Fishing Port. This is a three-dimensional work inspired by Noah's Ark in the Old Testament; it visualizes a white and blue patterned ark that blends into the sea and sky as it walks across the sea.

[Onba Factory] ”Onba” is a special color pull cart that colors the landscape of the island. It is a must-have item for Ogijima's grandmothers, who have to move through many slopes and alleyways. On the island, the color and decorate their Onba so it has become a form of art and expression.

[Interactions with Ogijima Locals During Lunch] How do people living in Ogijima live? Why do they live in Ogijima? Learn from the local residents of Ogijima while having lunch! Find out what kinds of locals live on the island and whom you can chat with. Lunch is French cuisine made with island ingredients! (* Lunch may be changed to another restaurant when the cafeteria is closed.)
