We will visit the oldest Izakaya in Nagoya, established more than 100 years ago. At this first stop, you’ll get an introduction to the history and production techniques of Sake, while you enjoy your first samples with four appetizers.
To connect with the place your guide will also make a brief introduction of this emblematic Izakaya and Nagoya’s food and drink culture.
You will take a short walk from the Fushimi area to Sakae. During your walk, your guide will point out points of interest and it is the perfect time to learn more about Nagoya itself.
Your next visit will be a Showa Era (postwar era)-themed Izakaya.
This little gem is really popular with the locals because of its outstanding Nagoya-style skewers and Nagoya local food. It’s a small local Izakaya that you will thoroughly enjoy.
Have a short break from drinking while heading to the third Izakaya of the night.
At your final stop, you will visit a modern-style Izakaya. This Izakaya specializes in Sake and tuna. We will order an All-you-can-drink (Nomihodai) menu. Be prepared to taste many different types of Sake that your guide will select for you, along with three appetizers.
Here you will learn how to match your Sake perfectly with food. With just a few guidelines to keep in mind when pairing food with Sake, you will have fun experimenting with pairings.
From here your guide will walk you back to Sakae Station or give you directions to your hotel or any other place you want to visit next.
You will be wondering what “regular nightlife” is like for a local in Nagoya?
Depending on the day of the week and the kind of person you ask there are different ways of spending a regular night out.
Nagoya has its own culture and has many unique nightspots. A typical Izakaya is one of your best options when thinking about mixing with Japanese local people.
On this tour, you will discover the unique Japanese drink of Sake while mixing with locals. You will learn first about the history of Sake, its creation process, and the different types of Sake you can find.
