Observe migratory birds, like white-fronted geese and whooper swans, that gather in Izunuma, a site registered under the Ramsar Convention. The sound of feathers and the cries of tens of thousands of birds as they take off in unison is a majestic and stirring sight.

【SCHEDULE】 

[15:00] Check-in
[16:00] Watch the migratory birds as they start roosting in the evening (about 1 hour).
The guide will be there to provide information.

[17:00] Overnight stay at the campground in Izunuma.
We recommend the restaurant Kumpel for dinner (costs not covered in the tour price).
[05:00] Watch migratory birds take off on their morning flight, a sight quite different from the roosting in the evening.

[10:00] The tour ends and check-out is at 10:00. Please purchase breakfast the day before at the Kumpel market or other shops.

    ・15 minutes by car from the Tsukidate IC or the Wakayanagi-Kinsei IC on the Tohoku Expressway
  • Minimum number of participants:2 people
  • Language support:Japanese, English(*English assistance will be provided, but please understand that the guide is not fluent.)

  • Excluded:Dinner, breakfast, rental tents, Transportation, personal, and other expenses.
  • Clothes:When observing wild birds in the early morning and evening, the temperature may drop below zero (celsius). Please bring warm clothes.
    (e.g. hats and earmuffs that cover your ears, mufflers and neck warmers, thick coats and innerwear, thick tights and socks, body warmers, rainwear, etc.)
    Please note that there is no equipment available to rent.
  • Participation requirements :
    ・Participants who can spend about an hour in the temperature below -10 degrees Celsius. The environment depends on the time of the tour.
    ・Wheelchairs are accessible.
    ・Infants are required to sit on laps.
    ・Not recommended for travelers with back problems.
    ・Not recommended for pregnant travelers.
    ・Not recommended for travelers with heart problems or other serious medical conditions.

7 to 4 days before the tour date 40% of the tour price
3 to 2 days before the tour date 60% of the tour price
The day before the tour date, on the day of the tour 100% of the tour price
※Right after the online settlement is made, a cancellation fee of 10% will be incurred in case of cancellation.
※The cancellation fee includes handling charges.
