  • The tour guide is the 18th generation of a family-run fishery company that has been in business for 300 years.
  •  Visit an oyster raft and watch the fishermen bring in oysters through goggles.
  •  Visit the oyster fishing site via a small fishing boat.
  •  Have a taste of the company's signature oyster dishes. (Dishes may vary depending on the season.)

[07:00] Guests will meet at Shimada Suisan Pier before boarding an oyster fishing boat to watch fishermen bring in their catch. The 18th generation head of the company will give an explanation of oyster farming and the secret history behind the oyster brand "Aki no Ippan" which is bred at the production site. Next, guests can enjoy a private tour through the Hiroshima oyster rafts in the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea.

[08:00] After returning to Shimada Suisan Pier, enjoy an oyster porridge and grilled oysters at an oyster house that's been in business for 15 years. The oyster hut, which started as a joke, is now a seasonal restaurant crowded with local customers. The soup stock for the porridge is a secret recipe from 300 years ago when the restaurant first opened in Osaka. The tour ends after dinner.

The 18th generation head of the company will talk about the appeal of Hiroshima oysters and the ecological cycle of Miyajima's Mt. Misen. He was the first in the private sector to develop a new and successful species of oyster. Enjoy a special tour with one of the most innovative company presidents in the industry.
