【SCHEDULE】

[16:00] Meet-up

[16:10] BBQ set-up:

Get ready to meet the elderly folk of the village!

Work with the coordinator to set up the BBQ area in front of the Miyagi Community Center in a plaza overlooking the ocean.

There will be time to prepare a tent.

[16:45] Meeting:

The elderly will join us for dinner!

There are usually 2~3 people, but as the elderly are busy with various jobs, the number of people who join the dinner may vary.

[17:00] Culture Exchange:

Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner!

Enjoy BBQ with food prepared by the elderly locals of the village. The ingredients vary depending on the time of year, but we will bring in local Inobuta (a breed of pig crossed with wild boar), vegetables, and fish that are harvested seasonally.

Towards the end of the day, there will be a sanshin (Okinawan guitar) and dance performance to the Okinawan folk song 'Kachashii'.

[19:00] Clean up and Farewell

After the BBQ, guests will clean up with the staff and bid farewell to the locals.

Campers will be free to stay in front of the community center (fire pits are free to use until 10:00 p.m.).
