【STORY】

Nuri Studio Raku is a lacquerware artisan workshop located in Wajima, a renowned region for Japanese lacquerware production.
Although we are a small studio, we are particular about the "lacquering" of urushi lacquerware and provide our products to our customers.

Lacquerware is handed down through generations while repairing the item. With expertise in restoring cultural assets and a unique approach that evolves traditional techniques, the workshop offers an immersive experience where visitors can feel the craftsmanship and engage in exchanges with skilled artisans.

【SCHEDULE】

[11:00] Learn about the history of Wajima lacquerware at the Wajima Lacquerware Hall.

[12:00] Enjoy lunch using Wajima lacquerware at the Thatched Roof Cottage.

[13:00] Introduction to the workshop and artisan Kazuyori-san at Nuri Kobo Raku, a Wajima lacquerware studio.

[13:15] Change of clothes and preparation.

[13:30] Hands-on experience (lacquer painting experience at KOKEMUSU®).

[14:30] Tour of the workshop, interaction with artisans, and gallery visit.

[15:00] End
