【STORY】

Miyajima is famous as a World Heritage island, but it has long been called "God's Island," and it is said that the beginning of this belief began when people felt the spiritual energy from the island's shape and prayed with their hands together.
With a circumference of approximately 30 km, Miyajima boasts a size approaching the TOP 10 among the 700 islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
Miyajima has a strong image of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, but there are many shrines (commonly called Nanaura-jinja Shrine) scattered along its coastline, and visiting shrines in seven of these coves is called "Nanaura Meguri (Nanaura pilgrimage)".
There is a legend that says that the enshrined deity of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine went around the island and searched for a place to enshrine himself. In accordance with this legend, those who visit Itsukushima-jinja Shrine visit Nanaura-jinja shrines and perform the "Oshima Meguri (Nanaura pilgrimage)" ritual to purify their mind and body.
The "Oshima Meguri (Nanaura pilgrimage)" has a history of 1,500 years as a ritual to purify body and soul, and is said to have been performed also by Oda Nobunaga, the great Japanese leader. Why don't you take a tour of the islands while thinking about the people who made the history of Japan?
