Etajima City in Hiroshima Prefecture is working collaboratively between the public and private sectors to promote local production, aiming to become the "Island of Olives". The olives nurtured by Etajima's abundant sunlight and mild climate offer a truly rich and flavorful taste.

Borrowing abandoned farmland in various locations on the island, they cultivate olives without using chemical fertilizers in their own fields. The community comes together for harvesting, contributing to the collective growth of the town.

■Olive Oil Tasting Experience with Certified Olive Oil Sommelier
The venue for this experience, Itonami-sha Lab, is led by a representative who is a certified olive oil sommelier of the Mediterranean Olive Oil Appraisers Association in the Lazio region, Italy. Pairing with Japanese cuisine ensures a delightful discovery of the new dimensions of olive oil.

Under the theme of "Connecting the Town and Nature for the Next 100 Years," Itonami-sha actively engages not only in agriculture but also in town development through olive cultivation in Etajima. By participating in this plan, you can experience the unique charm and culture of Etajima.

  To travel from Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima Port, you will need to take a high-speed ferry (total travel time approximately 1 hour).

  ・From Hiroshima Station, take the city tram bound for "Hiroshima Port" (about 40 minutes).
  ・Alternatively, from Hiroshima Station, take Hiroshima Bus Route 312 (Minato Shin-sen) or Route 21 (Ujina Line) to Hiroshima Port (about 40 minutes).
  
  [From Hiroshima Port to Nakamachi Port]
  ・From Hiroshima Port, take the high-speed ferry bound for "Takata/Nakamachi Port" (about 30 minutes).
  
  [From Nakamachi Port to Itonami-sha]
  ・Approximately 12 minutes on foot.
  ・From Nakamachi Port, take the Etajima bus bound for 'Okaki High School' and get off at Nomi Junior High School (approximately 3 minutes). From Nomi Junior High School, it is about a 3-minute walk.
