【STORY】

Ogimi Village is located in the northern part of Okinawa's main island, at the entrance to Yanbaru, a World Natural Heritage Site. It is a place where a diversity of flora and fauna that is valued worldwide remains, and is full of life as it is and the culture that has been preserved. The village welcomes you as if you were a family looking forward to coming.

A night of talking with grandparents and neighbors who may gather, a night of star-filled skies, and a feast of local home cooking using ingredients unique to Okinawa.
Once the night is over, you can feel the fresh morning air and say "Ohaiyo," meaning good morning, feeling like a member of the family.
You will then spend time with your family helping out in the rice paddies and strolling around the village, fully enjoying the local lifestyle.

【EXPERIENCE SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION】

◆About an example of the experience
・The program is designed to provide a chance to experience Okinawa's "Yui Maru" (spirit of caring and helping each other) by becoming a member of a family.
・After the work, participants will experience making sata-andagi, waffles, and sea crafts. Everyone cooks a meal together, and then gathers around the dining table to talk about their daytime experiences.
・The starry night sky and the sound of Sanshin (Okinawan traditional three-stringed instrument) make for a gentle, quiet time that only Igi can offer.
・You will experience farming and dairy farming as a member of a family.

◆About Ogimi Village
Ogimi Village in Okinawa Prefecture is one of the most long-lived villages in the world, and has been selected as one of the five "Blue Zones" of longevity in the world.

The aging rate of the total population is much higher than the national average of 26.7%, and the village has been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "the world's longest-living region" with a high percentage of healthy elderly people.

The three secrets to longevity in Ogimi Village are "lifelong active service," "dietary habits," and "human connections.
Even after reaching the age of 90, they continue to work in the fields and eat mineral-rich vegetables, seaweed, and protein.
They laugh, sing, and dance a lot, and live with the rare nature and its wisdom, and villagers support each other.
