【STORY】
Embark on a 4-Hour Sea Journey: Cruise Around Miyajima from Miyahama Onsen
Set sail from Miyahama Onsen aboard a cruiser for a 4-hour sea journey around Miyajima. Along the way, experience the island life of Setouchi at a charming café themed as an edible garden located on a cape in Etajima. This plan lets you fully immerse in the world-renowned scenery and everyday life of Setouchi from the sea and islands.
■Enjoy the Seto Inland Sea from the Water, Not the Land
The Seto Inland Sea is known for its mild climate, calm waters, and the beautiful tapestry of over 700 islands. The renowned German geographer Ferdinand von Richthofen visited in 1860 and described it as having unparalleled beauty. To truly savor the charm of the Seto Inland Sea, you must experience it from the water. Enjoy a comfortable sea journey on our cruiser.
■Experience Island Life at a Café on the Cape in Etajima
One of the highlights of this trip is a visit to Etajima Potager & Restaurant ”Bricolage17” on the cape in Etajima. During café time, enjoy your favorite drinks and desserts. True to its name, you can pick herbs like mint from the garden to garnish your dessert. Potager is French for a kitchen garden, and the edible garden here features fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The unique location offers stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea and Miyajima from its terrace, and the menu features 90% locally sourced ingredients from Etajima. Spend time at Bricolage17 and get a taste of the rich life on Etajima.
*Please order at least one item per person (e.g., seasonal smoothie ¥660). Orders are self-paid.
*Note: You will disembark at Bricolage17 using a rubber boat, so wear clothes that can get wet as your feet may get in the water.
For more details about this charming café, check out their Facebook page.

■Delight in a Full Circle Tour Around Miyajima
The journey to and from Etajima will take you around Miyajima. The island has a perimeter of about 30 km, with numerous inlets and shrines along its coast. Seven of these inlets house shrines known collectively as the Nanaura-jinja Shrines (Seven Shrines). The tradition of circumnavigating the island by boat to visit these shrines is called the Nanaura meguri (Seven Shrine Pilgrimage), a practice dating back to Oda Nobunaga’s time. The route is celebrated in the song "Aki no Miyajima mawareba shichi-ri, Ura wa nanaura nana Ebisu (meaning, Miyajima Island has seven inlets along its 7 ri (about 27 km) long coastline, each dedicated to a specific deity.)" for its blessings. On this cruise, you will see the grand shrine gate of the World Heritage Itsukushima-jinja Shrine and several historical shrines. Experience the history of Miyajima from the sea.
■Our Commitment to Your Safety During the Sea Journey
Captain Tsukamoto Masahiko is a certified safety instructor appointed by the 6th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, ensuring your safety is always the top priority. The cruiser "T's II" is registered as a safety instruction vessel with the Japan Coast Guard, and it received a new engine in 2023. We are dedicated to providing you with a safe and enjoyable sea journey, so you can return to Miyahama Onsen with a smile.
