Explore the majestic cliffs of Tojinbo, a natural wonder carved by volcanic activity 13 million years ago. On this guided tour, you will walk alongside a local expert to uncover the hidden stories and breathtaking sights of this iconic destination.
①The Secret of the Pillars: Stand atop 20-meter-high cliffs and discover the geological mystery behind the rare, pillar-shaped rock formations known as "columnar joints."
②Senjojiki Rock: Visit the vast, flat plateau of rock stretching out into the sea and learn how this unique "thousand-tatami mat" field was formed.
③Discovery of Unusual Formations: Wander through a landscape of curious rock structures, including "Candle Rock" and "Byobu (Folding Screen) Rock."
④Literary Path: Stroll along the Ariso Promenade, a scenic trail famously loved by great Japanese writers.
Throughout the journey, your guide will share insider stories and local legends, including the deep historical connection between Tojinbo and the nearby port town of Mikuni Minato.
We have also prepared time for photography at a prime lookout point. From there, you can capture the stunning view of Oshima, known as the "Island of the Gods," floating just 2 kilometers offshore.

・From JR Awara-Onsen Station:
Take the Keifuku Bus (Route 85 or 97: Tojinbo Line).
Duration: Approx. 40 minutes to the "Tojinbo" bus stop.
・From Fukui Station:
Echizen Railway (Mikuni-Awara Line): Take the train from Fukui Station to Mikuni Station. (Approx. 50 min)
Keifuku Bus (Route 84 or 96: Tojinbo Line): Transfer at Mikuni Station and get off at "Tojinbo" bus stop. (Approx. 10 min) - Number of participants:2–6 people

If the tour is cancelled due to safety concerns such as typhoons or strong winds, no cancellation fee will be charged. In such cases, we will process the cancellation and send you an email explaining the reason. Please ensure you check your email for updates.
・Cancellations by the Guest
If you choose to cancel for personal reasons—including poor health or concerns about the weather (when the tour is still scheduled to run)—the standard cancellation fee will apply. We appreciate your understanding.
