Learn about the spiritual traditions of the samurai and the tea ceremony at Rinkaku, Tsuruga Castle. (1 hour 30 minutes, includes a tea break)

[10:30]  Castle town walking tour (1 hour 30 minutes)

Experience the historic townscape where samurai and merchants once lived and worked together in Aizu-Wakamatsu

[12:00]  Tour concludes in Aizu-Wakamatsu

Aizu-Wakamatsu – A Castle Town Where the Samurai Spirit Lives On
Centered around Tsuruga Castle, Aizu-Wakamatsu is the historic heart of the Aizu region.
The town preserves the culture, traditions, and spirit shaped by generations of samurai.

●Tsuruga Castle
Originally built in 1384, this iconic castle with its distinctive red roof symbolizes Aizu-Wakamatsu.
Visitors can explore the castle tower and museum to learn about samurai life and regional history.

●Rinkaku Tea House
Located in Tsuruga Castle Park, Rinkaku offers a peaceful space to enjoy matcha and traditional sweets while experiencing Aizu’s tea culture.

●Noguchi Hideyo Youth Street
Named after Hideyo Noguchi, this historic street features traditional merchant storehouses and sites related to the Boshin War, along with cafés and long-established shops such as the bamboo craft store Taketō.
