Enjoy an elegant night in Gion with talented Maiko performers and local meals.


In addition to watching the Maiko's beautiful and elegant dance called Kyomai, you can enjoy free conversation with Maiko and some of Kyoto's local cuisine. The Maiko will also display their characteristic hospitality while serving sake to guests. Please feel free to take pictures! 


【PLAN DETAILS】

1. Opening

Showtime starring the elegant Maiko will start at 18:00! The featured Maiko are from Gion-machi and Miyagawa-cho. Please enjoy Kyoto's local cuisine and play a game called ”ozashiki" with the Maiko, too! The master of ceremonies will give necessary explanations and help conversation in English. 


2. Kyomai Dancing

Kyomai is one of Japan's traditional dances that originated in Kyoto. Kyomai uses local songs that are sung with the unique flair and charm of a particular region, so you can get an idea of Kyoto's individual characteristics through a Kyomai performance.


3.Kyo-ryori (local cuisine of Kyoto)

Kyo-ryori is a famous Japanese food that uses seasonal ingredients such as local vegetables and "shio-himono", which is dried fish. Every chef has his/her own preferences when it comes to preparing Kyo-ryori, from the cutting style, to the seasoning and plating. And nowadays, since it is easier to obtain the best ingredients at home and abroad, the possibilities for Kyo-ryori are expanding even more!
