【DETAILS】

This venue is one of Japan's foremost persimmon production areas, located at an altitude of 300 m and prospering for over 400 years.
In the past, about 150 persimmon farmers were making dried persimmons here, but by around 2010, the number had decreased to about 8.
However, there still remain 3000 beautiful and healthy persimmon trees in Satoyama that are all over 100 years old.
Although the culture of making dried persimmons has steadily declined over the years, there still remains devoted farmers and villagers who cherish persimmon trees and Satoyama alike.

Experience the ultimate sustainable lifestyle experience in this historical persimmon village.
During your visit, you can get a sense of the persimmon culture that has permeated Satoyama for centuries. Also, you can learn about the ideology of LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainablity) that has been passed down for generations.
