＜Aug. and Sep. only!＞ Reborn-Art Festival×Cycling Tour to Enjoy the Everyday Life in Ishinomaki

【OUTLINE】

This plan includes two programs.  One is short cycling in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture to enjoy the seasonal seafood and learn the daily life in the region.  The other is Reborn-Art Festival held in the city area of Ishinomaki to enjoy stage shows, music, and gourmet. You can appreciate the artworks, gourmet, and local experience in addition to cycling.

<What is Reborn-Art Festival?>
Ishinomaki is approximately 2 and a half hours from Tokyo. Reborn-Art Festival is a comprehensive art festival held around Ishinomaki where you can enjoy Art, Music, and Food created by artists in various genres together with the local people with the history, culture and rich nature in Ishinomaki and the Oshika Peninsula as a background.

【SCHEDULE】

Meet up at JR Ishinomaki Station → Pick up by car → See the artworks in Momonoura area of Reborn-Art Festival & go cycling → Lunch at "Hama-Saisai" eatery run by the local mothers → Enjoy the artworks & cycling → Finish cycling → Send-off by car → The tour ends at JR Ishinomaki Station 

【DETAILS】

You will travel around Ishinomaki, Onagawa and the Oshika Peninsula by bicycle with a local guide and enjoy the charms of the area only found there.  This is a combination tour of cycling and appreciating artworks at Reborn-Art Festival displaying artworks by more than 40 groups of artists to be held from August 3 to September 29, 2019.

【The Route】

9:30   Meet up at Ishinomaki Station
Go to Momonoura area by pickup car.

10:15   See the artworks in Momonoura area
You will enjoy the artworks curated by Mr. Takeshi Kobayashi, a popular Japanese musician, composer and record producer. Then, you will have a lecture on cycling and briefing on the course.

Cycling while seeing the ocean
While enjoying the beautiful seascape unique to the Oshika Peninsula, let's head for Oginohama by bicycle.

11:45  Appreciate artworks in Oginohama area
Find the sculpture "White Deer (Oshika)," the symbol of Reborn-Art Festival, on the White Shell Beach.

Lunch at the eatery 
Have a hearty meal full of the fresh local seafood at the eatery in Oginohama.

13:30 Enjoy the artworks in Kozumi area
There is a facility named "Ferment" where a hunted deer is cut and processed to edible meat.
You can observe the activity where harmful deer are repelled to solve the growing problem of harmful animals and utilize the deer with thanks as a community resource.

Cycling along the beach in Oshika Peninsula
You will enjoy cycling for about 13 km while watching the status of restoration of the beaches severely hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and the ocean as beautiful as ever.

15:00 See the artworks in Ayukawa area
Reach the goal at Ayukawa-hama
After reaching the goal, you will enjoy the artworks in Ayukawa area.

17:00  The tour ends at Ishinomaki Station
After cycling is finished, you will be sent off from Ayukawa-hama to Ishinomaki Station by car where the tour is finished.

• Time：7.5 hours
• Meeting point：In front of Reborn-Art Festival Information Center

• Access：
  from JR Sendai Station, take JR Senseki Tohoku Line for 1 hour to Ishinomaki
  Reborn-Art Festival Information Center is in the building next to Ishinomaki Station
  
• Language support：Japanese, Conversational English 
• Included：A Passport for Reborn-Art Festival, lunch, rental cycle, rental helmet, insurance
• Excluded：Clothes, shoes, towel
• Things to bring：Appropriate wear and shoes easy to move in, towel, a bag to carry a mobile phone and valuable good, (optional) Health insurance card, medicines
• Clothes：Appropriate wear for playing sports
• Participant requirement：High school students or older can join the tour. Junior high school students may join with an accompanying adult. For children of elementary school age or younger, please contact us.

• Other things to note：
  ・The course of the tour or the time may be changed beforehand or changed or canceled partway through due to the condition of the weather and wind, the effect by a natural disaster, the work condition during the peak fishing season, the condition of reconstruction work, and the road conditions.  
  ・If the cycling tour cannot be held due to rain, it can be changed to "Rainy-Day Course" following the same route by car. If you like to take it, please choose Yes that comes later.
  If you do not like to take it, please choose No that comes later. (You will get a refund.)
  ・If the number of participants does not reach the minimum (4 people), you will be notified of a cancellation. (You will get a refund.)
  ・The Reborn-Art Festival passport will be redeemed for vouchers on the day, so please present the paper ticket or mobile tickets to the person in charge.

【CANCELLATION POLICY】

7 to 4 days before the tour date 40% of the tour price
3 to 2 days before the tour date 60% of the tour price
The day before the tour date, on the day of the tour 100% of the tour price
※Right after the online settlement is made, a cancellation fee of 10% will be incurred in case of cancellation.
※The cancellation fee includes handling charges.
