【DETAILS】
Channel your creativity and make your very own Andon lantern! In the past, these lanterns were used for lighting in Japan. It's like the traditional version of light bulbs and fixtures that are used today.
First, our staff will introduce the history behind Andon lanterns.
After you decide what kind of lantern you want to create, you will choose one from five types of acrylic washi paper to cover the lantern light.
You can also choose the lid and bottom for your lantern from a total of 10 combinations. After listening to the instructions from our staff, you will draw your favorite pictures and characters. The lantern is cylindrical, but the washi paper is placed flat so that you can draw on it with ease.
After painting and lettering, you can use an electronic candle in the lantern. (additional charges apply)
Our staff will teach you how to assemble your lantern. The lantern can be folded compactly, so it is easy to take home with you.
Lastly, our staff will help you take a commemorative photo.
Take your one-of-a-kind lantern home with you as a special souvenir!
