[Introduction of the Islands]
Honjima
The shifting tide near the island is fast, and once produced many of the best sailors in Japan. The town is overflowing with historic and cultural assets. Kasashima district is designated as an important traditional building preservation area by Kagawa Prefecture. Kasashima is the only area in the prefecture that possesses such a status.
Awashima
Residents on the island are engaged in various art activities, and there are plenty of humorous artworks like hand-painted buoys or hand-sewn mascots. There are also a lot of places to visit such as the Awashima Marine Memorial Hall, which utilizes the former site of Japan's oldest sailor training school founded 120 years ago.

Besides, the Shiwaku Island was given an autonomous status recognized only in Japan when it was a samurai society. You can't see the history and culture of the Islands anywhere else. Please look forward to it. " (A word from Mr. Yokoyama)
