【DETAILS】

This tour includes a visit of three unmissable art galleries to understand Kagawa's art culture.
Usage of Jumbo taxi to transfer to/from Takamatsu station makes it easy to travel.
A guide who is familiar with local architecture and art will thoroughly explain Kagawa's art and artists. This is a special tour where you learn the interesting story of Kagawa art from a local expert! 


・Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum 

Introducing Isamu Noguchi, a leading sculptor of the 20th century. Noguchi produced a wide range of works that transcend genres such as stage art, furniture design, and ceramics, as well as sculpture. In his later years, he had a strong connection with Kagawa Prefecture, such as setting up a residence and studio in Mure-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.


・NAGARE STUDIO

Masayuki Nagare is a world-famous sculptor. He established his unique technique and style.
Nagare Studio is a production base and a residence in the eastern part of the Aji Peninsula in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. A place where the sense of style is gathered, an indispensable place to talk about the production activities built against the background of Masayuki Nagare's philosophy and aesthetics.

・Nakashima Memorial Gallery 

George Nakashima was said to create furniture while interacting with wood. Surrounded by his work, it even makes you feel like you are in the woods. Sakura Seisakusho, the company Nakashima recognize the technology and to convey the way of life and philosophy and collaborated with since 1964, established a memorial hall. There are about 60 works here, including the precious early chairs of work as an architect, and the desks used in Nakashima's workplace. Other than the studio in New Hope, USA, this gallery is the only place in the world where you can enjoy his work..
