【STORY】
This plan includes a studio tour and a gold painting experience at a pottery specializing in Kutaniyaki overglaze enameling located in Takado-cho, Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Kutani-yaki, which developed in the 17th century as an official kiln of the Kaga Clan, is characterized by detailed and gorgeous painting, such as color painting using five colors and gold brocade with gilding. During the Meiji period (1868-1912), Kutani-yaki was widely exported overseas under the name of "Japan Kutani," and its techniques and beauty of form were highly acclaimed around the world.
Kanagaso-cho, Komatsu City, where the Naohiko Noguchi Research Institute is located, is a mountain village with beautiful nature. Near the top of Mt. Kananbo-yama, from which the town takes its name, is a shrine dedicated to the Goddess of Kannon, and the institute is located at the top of the mountain in view of the shrine. Under the watchful eye of Kannon, the incarnation of water, Naohiko Noguchi, also known as the god of sake brewing, produces sake from the subsoil water of Mt.
