【DETAILS】

Learn the metalworking techniques that supported the attire of samurai.

Chokin (metal engraving) is a traditional technique that developed as a method for creating sword fittings and other decorative parts for Japanese swords.

The sword fittings that embody the spirit of the samurai reflect various wishes and refined aesthetic senses. The tsuba is one of the most representative examples.

Through this experience, you will learn about the wisdom and aesthetics of past peoples, as well as the metalworking techniques that supported them, by engaging with the craft of Tsuba engraving.
