【DETAILS】
Experience making accessories using the traditional "Tsumami-Zaiku" method in Asakusa, a major tourist attraction in Japan. Tsumami-Zaiku is a traditional craft made from small pieces of cloth called "Chirimen" (the silk fabric with unique irregularities on the surface used for high-quality kimonos). You will use special tweezers to pinch and fold the pieces of Chirimen and shape them into various items.
Tsumami-Zaiku corresponds to various styles, from traditional kimono decoration to modern design. It is still popular and is often used in accessories.
First, our staff will explain how to make your creation, as well as the history of Tsumami-Zaiku. When you decide what you will make, please choose the materials you like. There are accessory bases for hairpins, 'Obidome' (sash decoration), earrings and piercings. Our staff will carefully explain how to fold the cloth. Embrace your creativity and make your own design!
Lastly, our staff will help you take a commemorative photo in an authentic Japanese-style room. (Please bring your camera.)
